Living With Loss™Magazine formerly Bereavement Magazine, was founded in 1987 by Andrea Gambill after more than ten years of support group leadership and grief counseling. Following the death of her 17-year-old daughter, Judy, in 1976, Andrea started one of the earliest groups of The Compassionate Friends. A few months later, she helped to organize the first National Board of Directors of TCF and served on that board until 1982. Andrea created a "support group in print" to serve the bereaved believing that the grief-stricken have both stories to tell and a need to know the stories of others. The magazine became a valuable resource for the bereaved and those who care for them. In 2001, Loya and Ron Coffin took over as publishers and Loya became editor-in-chief after Andrea's departure. The Coffin's continued with the magazine's mission of offering hope and healing with timely articles, new publications and resources. They renamed the magazine Living With Loss™ Magazine to reflect their philosophy of addressing the many aspects of grief. We thank the Coffin's for preserving those high standards with integrity and commitment and for serving our readers until the end of 2005.
In 2006, Wag's World Publishers, Inc. continued the tradition and broadened that vision with an emphasis on traditional and alternative perspectives and resources for healing the body, mind and spirit. Above all, our mission remains the same and that is to offer compassion and hope while living with all of life's losses and challenges. Wag's World Publishers, Inc. has over 35 years of experience in the journalism, print, graphic reproduction and mailing fields. |
